UK anti-piracy deal does not demonstrate support for creative industries, says EvershedsNeil Mohring, head of media at Eversheds, has commented on news that a deal to combat online piracy is imminent. Mohring said: ‘The proposed deal to combat piracy will be welcomed by ISPs [internet service providers] who have lobbied against the Digital Economy Act. While this latest deal is a step forward, it is far from the enforcement regime requested by the creative industries. ‘The government has stated that it is behind the creative industries, but it has not demonstrated this in practice.
