Sony Pictures TV Starts Project for Emerging Talent

Sony Pictures TV is starting a “Diverse Directors Program,” which will allow emerging talent to shadow established TV directors on scripted projects from the studio, reports Submissions will be accepted from May 23-June 6, or until the program receives 500 applications. Applicants are asked to submit one completed example of a directing project, letters of recommendation and an interview. “Twenty semi-finalists will take part in an episodic directing workshop and attend networking events. The workshop will begin in June on Sony’s Culver City lot, and the curriculum will consist of six evenings of discussion and instruction from working directors and production personnel,” the story notes.
