The annual music business seminar, now in its second year, gives young people the chance to find out about how the music business works from professionals. This year’s event is in the Cellar Bar at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on Wednesday, May 21, 4pm-8pm. It is organised by second year music technology students based at the college’s Highfields Centre. Panelists Inder Goldfinger, John Robb, Pat Fulgoni, Steve Hamilton and Tim Hutton will talk about their own experiences and give advice. Inder is one of the most accomplished Asian musicians in the UK. He has worked with many musicians including Ian Brown (Stone Roses), Annie Lennox and Labi Siffre. Pat, lead singer of Kava Kava has toured across America, China and Europe, also playing festivals such as Glastonbury. He also runs Chocolate Fireguard Records. Steve Hamilton is a promoter who has worked in the industry for many years and one of the organisers of Bingley Music Festival. He also runs his own production company, Alpine Productions. John Robb is the front man of punk rock band Goldblade, music author of best-selling books including The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop and a TV and music pundit.
