Budding songwriter pursues music business, credits campus mentors with inspiring persistence

BY Evie Hemphill Early last summer, as Teresa Frank embarked on a unique, paid opportunity for three months, one of the first things she purchased was a simple bulletin board. Before long it was full of small rectangles. “I started pinning up the business cards of people I met, and by the end of the summer I had over 300 cards of producers and recording engineers and others in the music scene,” says Frank, who had just finished her junior year at the University of Missouri–St. Louis at the time.
